CCA2018 Activities Update

CCA2018 Activities Update 2Our CCA 2018 Conference Community Mapping: Place Making Through Maps is quickly approaching and we are busy putting the final details together.

Workshops will take place in labs at COGS. No need to bring your computer, just an open mind, creative spirit and perhaps something to take notes on. We will have everything you need to participate in workshops with Edie Punt: ArcGIS Pro and with Clint Loveman: Getting Started with ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud. We are tickled to welcome back these COGS Cartography grads. You may find Cartographer Ken Field helping Edie during her workshops. Again, we are thrilled to host our workshop facilitators and special keynote speakers: Ken Field, Michael Goodchild and Marcel Morin.

CCA2018 Activities Update 3

A Lobster Dinner has been arranged for Wednesday, May 30th after appetizers at Lunn’s Mill Beer Co. This will be followed by a geology talk about the formation of the Bay of Fundy, sunset on the Bay of Fundy shore under the glow of a beach bonfire.

Post talks Thursday, May 31st we will hold an orienteering event followed by a catered dinner at Temple on Queen. Hear interesting Pecha Kucha presentations, share a terrific meal and listen to live local entertainment.

If you are staying the weekend, we have talks lined up in Grand-Pré for Saturday morning. Learn more about the Fundy tides, Acadian dykes and rich history this area has to offer. There will be opportunities to hike, meet for lunch and even hop on the Magic Winery bus if you so desire. Details on Saturday’s activities can be found in this flyer: https://bit.ly/2wMdLvW
